New owner of a 2015 wrangler unlimited tank green. I'm want to upgrade the wheels/tires but I want to leave the stock height for now. Any suggestions?!?!? Currently I have factory 18in

Go to Discount tire direct.com
They are a long time sponsor of the forum and offer forum member discounts. I Just got 5 tires, wheels, sensors, lugs, shipping for $19XX.XX delivered to my door. Fourth time I've bought from them.

17X9 with 4.5 inches of backspacing is the most popular.

Search; " show your 33's" and "show your 35's"

With stock height you can only fit 33 inch tall tire. you will need the 4.5 backspacing for the rims if your tires are more than 11.5-12 inches wide. If you want anything bigger than that you will have to start lifting or trimming body parts. The smaller the rim you buy usually means cheaper tires. If you stick with 18's you will pay more for rubber than if you had 16's. smaller rims also make the tires look bigger in my opinion.

Default Remember tire width...

There are lots of posts about tire size with no lift. Lots of JK owners go with 33's and flat fenders to accommodate the tire height. But with many 33's, tire width is also an issue and without lift or wheel spacers, you may experience rubbing on the sway bar links and/or brake lines etc...

I went with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTracs 265/70/R17 on ProComp 7069 (17x9) w 4.5" backspace. No lift. They actually drop the vehicle height about 1/2" from stock (although this is not noticeable). Still have room for flex when off-road and the width of the tire coupled with the 4.5 backspace wheel extends (ever so) slightly past the stock fenders.

I work in DC and often have to park in public garages with severe height restrictions. So I did not want to increase vehicle height either.

The DuraTracs drive great on road, even on highway they are not loud. I have yet to run them off-road, but what I read on the forums is that they do just fine!

Good luck! Enjoy your new JK!
