Post Snow Questions a little insite please

Hello Everyone names Rocky. wife and I just bought a 08 jku sahara with 64,000 kms 6 speed.
my son insisted for me to take him in the snow and well lets say dad could not Deny his little mans wishes. anyways I pulled up on to the cub side with 3 feet or so of slow. it took a little bit to get her up there in 4h. once I was up there I started to creep in 1st again 4h and it wanted to stall.. I had tc on and it was tripping off saying loss of traction but began to loss power and just want to stall. I revved it up a bit and released the clutch out a little more aggressively and same thing. it was at this point only 1 1/2 feet deep. I reversed and got a little momentum and said F it and pulled back on the road no problem. any one have advice on a better approach for a situation like that in a 6speed? and yes I have driven manual for most my driving years.

Traction control is cutting power to try to prevent wheel spin. That's it's job. Turn it off if you need some wheel spin.

Personally I find the button a little funky too because it controls both TC and ESP and it doesn't really tell you what's going on
