I really liked Wranglers as a kid but never had one. Got married, went to Maui for my honeymoon and rented a 2-dr Sport back in 2002. The new wife and I fell in love with it, came home, sold the Acura and got our own 2001 Sport soft top. It was the most fun in a vehicle I ever had...even over my Sport Bike (Suzuki GSXR600). Had our 2nd kid and was forced to trade it in for a....*gasp*...minivan. Before I signed the paperwork, though, my incredible wife made me promise that some day, we'd have another one. Fast forward 9 years and 2 more kids, we upgraded her to a Ford Expedition back in 2008 (she's driving a 2010 model now) and I had a 2011 Explorer that I really loved, too. Until a couple weeks ago when my cousin and best friend sold his BMW to buy a brand new 2-dr Wrangler Sahara. I was shocked because he and I both require things like Bluetooth, NAV, a quiet cabin and other things that I had no idea Wranglers offered. The shock quickly turned to jealousy, which turned just as fast to excitement when I told my wife and she told me to go get one. So on New Year's Eve 2013, I fulfilled my promise and brought home a brand new 2014 Wrangler Sahara Unlimited, and we couldn't be happier with it!!! I've done nothing to it yet (believe me, that'll change), but we are already jonesing for Summer when we can take the top off and get back to our heart's desire...open road (dirt or pavement) in our Jeep. And ultimately, we get to pass this love on to our 4 kids (2-10yrs), so it'll be extra fun.

Just like you, I fell in love with a Wrangler as well on a vacation. It was in Aruba, rented one for the week and couldn't get enough!!.. Got my first TJ right after after that when I was 17. fast forward 9 years and I just purchased my new 14' JK as well.

Thank you! They do look good right off the lot, but I can't wait to dress it up and make it mine. The gallery on this forum has given me all sorts of ideas, but it's always a balance, right? How much do I really want to spend versus how much more enjoyment will I get out of it. Speakers are a must, but after that, I'm thinking some chrome upgrades, a new bumper, maybe some front lights and if I get really crazy, a new hood with scoop on it...those look amazing! Congrats on your new JK, too!

 

My wrangler has got to be the funnest favorite vehicle I've ever owned. Just something about taking the top and doors off and driving down the road that makes you feel free. Any worries about anything I have just fly right out the hole where the doors go. I already can't wait for spring to come back around.

Welcome to the forum and welcome back to Jeeps. I can relate - I too had a lapse in Jeeps. Had a YJ for several years - had a lapse in judgment and traded it in and eventually regretted it more than I knew at the time.... Now, I've got my 07 and life is better now

 

I think someone makes a third row seat... you mighty want (need) to look into that.
