Not new to Jeeps, but new to JKs...
Howdy all! Recently purchased a new to me 2008 JK Unlimited Rubicon right before moving from Southern California to Virginia. Upgraded from a 2003 TJ. So far, I'm loving it, and so are my kids!
I've already got quite the digital shopping list going, but first, I need to get a house so I can start turning wrenches.
This was the day after I bought it, at a local brewery there in SoCal. Couldn't resist the temptation to test out the lockers and swaybar disconnect.
I'm sure I'll garner quite a bit of knowledge from everyone here that has a lot more experience with JK's than myself, and I'm looking forward to starting my own build thread sometime in the near future

As for mods, since I'm back on the East Coast where there isn't as much rock crawling as there was out in SoCal, I think I'm going to build it up with more of an expedition feel to it than a rock crawling oriented build.
I'm looking at new bumpers (naturally), the Metalcloak Gamechanger 3.5" lift, I'll probably stick with 35's, a regear to 4.56 at a minimum, a Rock Hard 4x4 Sport Cage, and some new fenders for starters. Haven't decided on the fenders yet, still got some searching to do on those.
Then again this entire build will be contingent on actually getting my family settled. We still have to buy a house and all that jazz. Can't wait to get my garage all nice and setup.

Thanks for the welcome. I'll agree with you on the wheeling bit, used to live out this way a few years back. Noticed you're from Fayetteville. Used to go to high school there about 16 years ago! Still have quite a few friends back in that area.
