Default New owner from saint george, utah/ window crack after 12 days ownership :(

Hello All, Just signed up and very excited. Purchased a 2017 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara JK. I did not know what JK was but I found you because I am looking to replace my front windshield after about 12 days of ownership. Was hit by a rock on the freeway on the way to the dealership to have the Inside/Outside Protection put on it. I told them about it and they said I could just get it fixed as no warrantee covered windshields. I said OK. When I got the car back at the end of the day the "small ding by the rock" was now a crack across the whole windshield. When I brought that to their attention, they said "oh! that probably happened when they sprayed cold water on the hot windshield during the protection process." Now I feel that I have to change the windshield as the crack is across the center of the drivers side. I found this site as I searched for costs of window replacement. In registering I have lost the thread where someone noted they have changed their front windshield 4 times in 3 years. They changed their comprehensive deductible to "0" for $26 dollar additional premium. I wanted to ask...what insurance carrier they had and if they have any adverse effects of too many claims and increase premiums overall?

S. Wade?

Call Jones Paint & Glass off of E 100 S, across from the Peruvian chicken place.

I had mine replaced in St. George by A Plus Quality Glass, 166 West 1700 South, 435-656-1091. Didn't go through insurance, paid $642 for the OEM windshield with Jeep graphics in it that the 2012 has 2 years ago. Stephen Wade is my dealer and they sent me to A Plus Quality Glass. A non-graphics window would have been cheaper.

I thought insurance companies will replace the windshield free of charge. Mine does. You may want to check and see.

Insurance will replace W/S at no cost if you have $0 deductible comprehensive coverage

Unless you submit several claims in a short period usually not a problem. Carrier might insist on a deductible if you use the coverage too often. Most carriers don't surcharge for comprehensive claims such as W/S.

You can buy decals that have the W/S logo online.

Thank you so much for all he feed back. I will call my insurance and check things out with them first. Then will call "Jones Paint & Glass". Was not planning to even check insurance as I have only heard horror stories about raised rates after claims.
