New- Joining The Forum
Hey Guys,
Just joined the group. I have a 2012 JK, bought her brand new back in the day. I recently did some LED mods, headlights, and bull bar.
Today bought myself some 285/70/R17 Duratracs. Now.... the lift, going to be going through some forums starting some threads to get some insight from you guys. I have read everything under the sun about lifting your jeep and what the effects are. Everyone seems to have a different opinion that contradicts each other. I'm going to take it all in and make an informed decision before I drop another couple thousand.

You can base your lift on tire size, what you expect out of the lift, and your budget. With your tire size no lift or something like a 3/4" coil spacers is what you should be leaning towards.

Welcome to the jeep family. Have fun and chew on all the different opinions you get on the forums. Some really smart folks. Some not so much. Lol. Your money spend how you think is best.

That being said can I get away with buying some old man emu coils and Blistein shocks, to improve my stock ride on the road?
Was thinking something like this:

Or does it make sense to spend the extra $300 and go with like an AEV kit which is essentially the same parts plus a couple extras?
I've read a lot of forums and don't want to go much higher than stock height (enough to clear the 33' tires with no rub), but want to avoid just a spacer. And if possible improve the ride. I currently have the standard red rubi shocks and my front coil is 52126314AC, Back is 68004255AA.
If anyone has some suggestions, please help

I have run the both OME HD and no load coils and ran them with the OME nitro sport shocks as well as the 5100's all on a C rated 33" tire and the best overall ride was from the no load coils and the nitro sport shocks. I had steel bumpers and a winch and still got over 2" of lift from the no load coils. When I ran the 2" HD coils it was closer to 3.25" of actual lift.
I agree keeping it lower requires fewer parts as the geometry really does not get too far out of whack until you go past 2" and the higher you go the worse it gets. Flat fenders are also a good way to go to get room for up travel and bigger tires without adding bump stop.
