New JK Owner in DC Area
Just checking in; I'm new to the site. I bought my JK about four months ago and so far have only made cosmetic mods.....
- Double Din DVD Player in Dash (links to Ipod/XM/Backup Camera)
- Garmin GPS Unit
- 2" Body Lift (saving for a 4" suspension lift)
- 285/75/R16 Dunlop Mud Rovers
- Waiting on my Pacer 252B Wheels to come in (should look pretty sweet)
- Replaced all factory speakers (sounds friggin' awesome, not trying to sound like a Rap Star, just wanted a better overall sound)
I haven't taken any pics yet. I'm waiting on my wheels to come in, but as soon as they do I'll post some pics.
Take Care and Don't Get Stuck in the Mud.....

2007 Unlimited - Flame Red
I went with the Flame Red. I've always wanted a red Jeep.... When the four door Wranglers came out, I couldn't resist. To answer the question about the Head Unit and speakers, here goes..... I went with a Valor double-din unit. I bought it off of crutchfield for about 500 bucks. The reason I went with that is because I have a buddy who speaks highly of them. I only had to spend about 20 bucks on the Ipod Interface, which is much cheaper than most out there. I used to have a JVC in my old car and I spent 300 bucks just on the Ipod control interface. I think I spent 89 bucks on the XM interface. The picture's great and the functionality is better than my thousand dollar JVC unit. As far as speakers go, I left the tweeters on the dash and replaced the two door speakers and two speakers in the speaker bar. I went with some Kenwood 3-way speakers (they have a built in tweeter and don't require an amplifier). I also put a Bazooka Bass tube in the back. I went with that because it's small and puts out clean bass..... Oh, and I live in White Plains if anybody out here want to go mudding sometime....
