That sounds like a nice mod (the aux port). If it works out you need to post a few pics and how you did it if you don't mind.

another "serious mod" that I'm looking at would fix that issue. Basically, I take apart the CB, and surgically break off the front panel. Running extra wires over some distance and mounting the front panel (knobs, mic, display) above driver side windshield (basically just to the left of the forementioned location). The series of wires would run to the 'body' of the CB radio which would be located elsewhere in the Jeep. Oh, and also voiding the warranty on the CB.

i happen to have a Uniden 520xl that I plan to try this on. Of course I'll be using the digi-cam incase it actually works so that I can document it.

As for my dash, I've already got my XM and Harmon Kardon Ipod control there. (Though the Garmin 7200 also has XM capabilities too, so that could be a replacement for that.... if only I had $$ for that).

additionally, while I have the Radio apart, I will be investigating the possibility of re-routing the two U-Connect buttons, so that there is the capability of using them for other things. I imagine that the buttons are 'momentary' buttons (only active while being pushed) much like a garage door opener... [see where I'm going with this? ]

[again, many ideas, just need time and opportunity to try]
