Default New to JK forum, is this normal???

Have a 07 Wrangler Sahara, just installed a set of aftermarket wheels XD Series, 17x9 -12mm offset, my question is... The fifth wheel (spare tire) is about 5" from the tail gate (way separated compared to the OEM tire and wheel) is this normal? Should I be worried about damaging my tailgate because of the weight?

Quick fix: radiator hose to extend the factory rubber stops to stabilize the tires from movement.

Better fix : aftermarket tire carrier / tire carrier & bumper.

Its not that big, 285/70/17, mud terrains, just worried that the weight might damage the tailgate

that's only a 32 to 33" tire right? should be okay for quite a while from what I've read. I had a 35 on the back for a few months with no trouble including some moderate wheeling.

I don think it's moving that much, guess I'll just wait and see what happens, I might have an excuse for the wife of why "I need" to buy a new rear bumper jajaj
