New on JK-Forum from Arizona
HI everyone,
I've been an avid 4-wheeler since I was in my 20's and got my first Jeep in the early 80's. That first Jeep was a 1963 CJ5 and it went through a complete rebuild in 1985 and it is ready for another. So now I'm 56 and while I get around to doing another rebuild on the CJ5 I figured I go and buy a 2008 JK Rubicon, which I did two years ago. It's still rather stock but little by little I'm getting the JK set up.
First up was an LOD shorty front bumper with skid plate and a 10K lbs Superwinch tucked in. Engine breathing a little better with an Airaid air cleaner and plenty of amps with an Optima yellow top battery. And currently on it's way from Poison Spyder is a set of Sliders, a upgraded transmission mount cross member and a skid plate for the Evap Canister, a bit late as I already cracked it open during Crawlfest in 2011 but at least the next one will be protected.
After I get all that install it will be a long arm lift kit, whose is still pending more research; also a set of 35's or 37's mounted on some Walker Evans wheels. Of course once I do that it means a new set of diff gears and so I can stop better a brake conversion kit, slotted rotors and dual cylinder calibers. What the heck it's only money.
Hope to meet some of the wonderful people at the any of the so many different events going on and take on some trails.
Cheers!
Frank
