New to JK-Forum
Hi all,
I'm Jason from Colorado Springs, while I'm not new to Jeeps in General this is my first JK, and my first wrangler in almost 10 years.
I bought a 2007 4 door unlimited X It has 41k miles. along with 33 inch tires (or there abouts).
I of course have a few mods in mind, but being on a limited budget it may take me a while to get there.
So far my thoughts are trim the fenders, chop the front bumper, add tow hooks, and a winch ideally. I'd also like to fabricate sliders, and a rear bumper with a tire carrier. I'm not sure where the sliders are supposed to mount to though.
I also want to install electric locks, with kids they are almost a must. I'm looking at a CAI I found on ebay for $60, plus a superchips flash paq would be nice.
Eventually I'd like locker, and maybe a regear to 4.11, I have 3.21 right now.
I'm fine with 33's or maybe 35's.
I'm also a ham radio guy, AC0BX, so I've been looking for an easy way to get battery power into the cab with at least a 10awg cable. any ideas?
I've also been looking at the third seat idea.
It looks like a missed a bunch of you guys who got together in Castle rock a month or so ago, hopefully you'll do that again I'd love to come.
Anyway I guess I've rambled on long enough here are a couple pictures of my new toy! It was in the 60's today in Colorado Springs, so I figured I'd try taking the top down. It went down and up pretty easy except for the zippers, they were a little stiff.

Another CO Jeeper Here!!!
Welcome to the forum, and congrats on the JK! Too bad you got the dreaded 3.21s I was lucky enough to have 4.10s. Definitely do the intake and sliders, sitting on some nice 35s, sounds like you have got your plan worked out.
I am liking the pics, and i think that color is awesome. I am sure you will post some more when you start changing stuff out on that new toy of yours!

Yeah I have a plan, now whether I can implement it or not that is another thing. I'm a mediocre welder, but nothing grinding can't fix!
I really like the color too, In fact the only thing I don't like is the wind noise at the soft top header. Hopefully I can get the dealer to fix it with the TSB under warranty, but I'm not holding my breath since I'm out of warranty. I think it was actually quieter with the top down today than it is with it up.

Definitely understand the wind noise, I have a soft top with half doors.
On the highway i might as well just wear headphones because i can't hear anything.
JK's are great on the trails here in Colorado, the unlimited won't disappoint. There are so many great trails right in your neighborhood. I am definitely jealous how close you are to all the good wheeling spots.
Granted their are some good ones that are well out of the way for anyone in the metro area or the springs.

Thanks guys!
You're right there are a ton of trails. I can be on a trail only 20 minutes from my house, and I live right in town. I've got to get some tow hooks installed before I go wheeling though. If I got stuck I don't even know where I could hook on!

Looks good!! You sound just like me. I just got my JK a few months ago after not having a Jeep for 10 years or so. I had a TJ and I don't remember it producing this much wind noise, but with kids, the 4dr JK is awesome! Good luck, looks like you have a pretty solid plan.
