New here, new to JK's
Greetings. Old Jeeper here from way back- I have had and modded several YJ's and TJ's going back to 1993 when I bought my first Wrangler. I was very active on the old Jeeps Unlimited forum (anyone remember that?) and then Jeep Forum.com, which seems dead now...
Long story short- just got a 2016 JKU after not having a Jeep for over a decade. Mojave Sand Sport. I am so excited I cant stand it!
I knew the YJ/TJ inside and out, from suspension to electronics and everything under the hood, but this thing is an all new adventure. I'll be asking a LOT of questions.
I know Jeepers are some of the most creative and helpful bunch out there, so I'm looking forward to sharing what I learn along the way.

i only took a couple pics yesterday- spent my time driving it! It was warm enough to take the t-top sections off for a while.
First job is going to be painting the chrome nerf bars black. Chrome has no place on a Jeep. The only other aftermarket parts are the AVS hood bug shield and window vents.
it has the package with power windows/locks, keyless entry, Sirius XM, Bluetooth and Uconnect.

Welcome to JKF. That 3.6L JK has been a pretty reliable rig and pretty easy to work on. This 3.6L does have a couple common known issues but it's been a reliable engine in general. First in that time range is the oil cooler assembly/o-ring and that is a pain in the butt to get at as it's under the whole intake. The second is rocker arm failure that results in the 33.6L "tick". Don't suppose you have any information as to if those have been addressed or not by previous owner(s) huh? The final thing we have on the JKs is radiator issues with tiny leaks at the side, but that's really nbd. I have 108k on my '13 and it's been a great vehicle for me.

it was a Carmax vehicle, so I bought the ‘Maxcare’ warranty separate from the purchase. I would never/have never thought aftermarket warranties were any use, but went ahead and bought it just in case the rockers/oil housing/radiator issue shows up. Either one of those problems will pay for the price of the warranty.
