I started pulling the carpets and seats last night. Here are some general pics:

Those seat bolts are a bear to pull. I'm going out to get a breaker bar today. Why is 18mm so hard to find? I have 3 17mm's and 4 19mm's...

Next is the trim and center console. The Chilton's manual says that I simply pull the shift handle out. Does that sound correct?

 

Looks to be a cold air intake.. Red shocks, maybe KYB. Thou not much of an upgrade or improvement.

I was wondering why your pulling everything or maybe I missed a post.. but it would appear that you getting ready to clean and bed liner the jeep. which is a great idea and a simple project anyone can do. We are going to do the same hoping this spring/summer.
However, we aren't going to the extreme you are by pulling everything.. thou most do this, I'm unable to. As for the 18mm.. oddly my morning walks take dumpster diving and I find things.. tools sets etc.. and just so happens found that elusive 18mm in a half empty set of tools.
Chilton's you say?.. *ears perk up* well seeing how Haynes send me their latest Jeep repair manual.. thou they are late this year in sending me one.. It's not clear what the Chilton manual means by "simply pull the shift handle out" and if this is a typos.. might need to contact Chiltons editors.
Lastly I've never pulled anything like that from any of our jeeps. So pardon my lack of knowledge in that respect.

 

I'm having it sprayed by line-x on Thursday. My Husky's fur is driving me nuts!! I'll post after pics when its done. Thinking about installing the Tuffy locking cover for the cubby.

 

Good point about pulling things out of the Jeep. One of my buddies said there's a screw at the base. I'll look before I yank!

We are all new to some degree here, so one should remember.. having a newbie name or title doesn't mean one is actually new to the world of jeeps. I'm doing the herculiner myself.. and I'll not be removing any of the heavy duty stuff, Just removing the top and camping gear for a long weekend on the eastern shore.

 

Sounds like fun! Kind of contemplating doing my own liner now. Is Herculiner a roll-in?

 

yep.. the story goes, I went to Line-X in the hopes they would help us out by making a contribution of bed lining just the front seat areas.. Later I learn that they wanted to do the whole jeep (taking it apart interior wise) for $800.00
This was outrageous.. so I sent an email to rhino, herculiner etc in an attempt to see what they could do for me.. Never heard back from rhino.. but herculiner said "expect something in the mail" A few weeks passed.. and we received a 1gal kit of herculiner paint on bed liner.
So, we're hoping that this year spring/summer will cooperate with us to actually get the job completed.
