Default New guy in NorthTexas

Just wanted to introduce myself and my '08 Rubicon. I picked her up used, so I'm not sure what work she's had done. I'll probably have a ton of questions!! I enjoy hunting, fishing and camping, but seem to have limited terrain up here in North Texas. Seems like it's all private land. I'm a military retiree/transplant to the area, so I don't have many contacts set up yet.
Anyway...I'm stoked to finally own a Jeep!

Not exactly the hardcore photos that everyone else has, but this is my Jeep.

Default Welcome To The Forum

They say an image is worth a thousand words.. so along with your "ton of questions" images will help with your discoveries.
Scan the image. seems to be a semi stock Rubicon with a few mild alterations, Doesn't appear to be lifted.. thou there could be a budge boost in place.

Welcome. I'm a transplant to central texas. Enjoy the forum, and the jeep!

Thanks. I'll be sending additional photos as I get the opportunity. I did put the Smittybilt rack on her as my first mod. I'm pulling carpet and seats to have Line-X spray the tub in the very near future. I know, I know...I could put the time in and Raptor line it. I just don't have the time.

I love Texas! No intent of ever moving again. Did enough of that in the military!

Welcome to jeep ownership and to north Texas! I'm in the Dallas area, used to be on camp Pendleton CA. If you have any questions just ask. I agree terrain is limited here, but you can find places or pay for off road parks. Honestly between the beach, base, or a short drive to the desert or mountains, Cali was much better suited to owning a jeep. But TX is great, today I drove down around the Waco area down old dirt roads and ungated pastures to a semi-ghost town. Enjoy the Rubi! Any plans for future modifications?

Well, this is also my daily driver. I've not had an opportunity to do any rock crawling in it yet. My interest is more in trails and camping. I was looking at some of the Bigfoot roof rack tents for ideas. We'll see. Seems like I have a hard time finding time to do much more than the Honey-do's lately Oh well...

OH yeah, I was at Ft. Irwin out in the Mojave for four years. There was some awesome terrain out there. Wish I'd had the Rubi back then...

Awesome, mine is my DD too. I lean more towards the exposition style jeeps, but rock crawlers are cool too. Check this thread out when you have a chance. Some amazing jeeps in it and could give you some great ideas. https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-s...see-em-181613/
