New Guy Few ?'s
hey everyone. i've been reading the boards for a while trying to get an idea of what i want and what i can do for future mods. i'm looking to trade in my 2005 nissan titan with almost 12" of lift on a new jk unlimited. i went for a test drive yesterday and then sat down to talk some numbers with the salesman. i fell in love on the test drive. the 6spd shifted smoothly and seemed to have adequate power. what i noticed was that the dealer had an "appearance package" added that added about $1700 to the sticker price. when i asked what was added in this package i got a vague answer in return. i asked again and the guy said that it was really nothing and that it was the premium they were adding for each wrangler on the lot b/c they are selling so well. can they do this? well i know they can, but that is crazy. it just doesn't seem right that they say it is something they added to the jeep, but it is nothing more than the dealer making more of a profit! oh well even though i loved the jeep i walked out after they were not willing to budge on anything. i will continue looking and will hopefully be a part of the jk owning community one day.
