Default New guy ...

Just picked up my (our) first Jeep this weekend. Me and my wife have wanted one for years and years and we finally pulled the trigger! 2010 w only 50k mi. We have only really driven it a few times but we definitely have the fever. Planning on taking it out this weekend for an anniversary ride through the trails ...

Thanks ... Looking to replace these tires, thinking about going from the Trail Grapplers to the Terra's ... Wife has decided to make it her daily for a minute. Its got a 3" lift and Spacers ... I want something about the same size as I have. Any opinions out there? I have priced AT3s, and Terras ... any pros/cons/other options I should know about?

Congrats and before you go and start modding do a lot of research and make your purchase once.

I hear ya ... I have a lot of people telling me that I will inevitably end up with at least 35s (bc of my 3" lift) so I might just try to go that route ... My only problem is the step up. My wife will be driving it a pretty good bit too and I have a 5 year old that already is having to jump in. Anybody got any ideas on steps that would assist? Im not real concerned about ground clearance. With the lift and the tires I have plenty to do everything that I want to, I don't do any serious off roading.

Found these ... anyone got any pics of other options?

I have the LoD Signature Sliders and love them. The ones you have pictured will catch on rocks and are mounted to the pinchseams. If you come down hard on a rock by accident of course you can damage the body. Look for a slider that is mounted to the frame. My wife is 5'4" and I have a 6 yo that has to climb in as well. The LoD sliders have a step. Additionally adding a grab handle on the A pillar will help your wife get in. For the 5 yo look into getting some paracord grab handles that are located on the headrest. I have attached a picture of my LoD sliders.

Do a lot of research before buying. There is nothing worse than going to SWMBO and saying I want to upgrade XXXX after 6 months and her response being well why didn't you do that in the first place. Trust me I know. My wife is a Jeep nut as much if not more than I but she is also my sound of reason when ordering parts.

Also if you can find some local Jeepers with various mods you think you want and look at them. Look how they are mounted and constructed. Sometimes cheaper is not always better.

For sure ... Ive always loved them but my wife has been NUTS about them for far longer than I have been. She is the main reason that I bought this thing, but of course, now I have the bug.

I don't want to start anything here because I know this has been covered a thousand times ... But are you running spacers and have they created any problems for you? I have never had a vehicle running them and to be honest, they make me nervous. I like the larger tires, and I understand the need for them in some applications, but is a 2" spacer REALLY necessary in my case?
