Looking for Previous Owner &/or Grizzly Decals Info
Hi, I have been Jeep JK shopping and found a 2007 Sahara with (what I think are) aftermarket decals on it. On both sides of the hood,. it says, "GRIZZLY" in black letters, and on both sides above the Sahara decal is a light blue silhouette of a bear.
I'd like to be 100% sure how these got on the Jeep. Even assuming they did not come from the factory, if the original dealer installed them, I'd leave them on. If the second dealer or one of the two previous owners added them, I'd probably remove them.
It has a JK forum decal on the right rear, so I thought maybe someone here is the previous owner or knows something about it.
Thanks!

Although jeep create a "Big Bear" edition, (which was more of a Willys Wheeler) there is no reference to the Grizzly deals on your jeep. These could be removed, Unless the decals have been placed on the vehicle before the vehicle was ceramic coated. As the coating would seals the decals onto the body. Then you'll have a "bear" removing them.

I see what you did there! :-) No, the decals are on top of the paint. I don't mind them, but unless they original dealer added them, I'll consider removing them. My other hobby is collecting "Starsky & Hutch" Ford Gran Torinos, and I know there are plenty of variations. Sometimes the home-made ones have a very special story, like they were part of a local promotion or something. If these decals had any special purpose like that, I might just leave them on for fun. But if an owner just added them, I might remove them.

Just to be clear, this was not my jeep.. merely letting you know that those decals are not factory spec originals. This is a common trait for wrangler owners to place personal decals on their vehicles. Sadly, the wife is against me having decals on the jeep other than the freedom stripe and American flag, which I'm actually painting on as decals tend to fade over time.

Remove the decals and make it your own. Just someone else's personal touch. Even factory decals are all just a finishing touch that can be easily removed. Sometimes it can be a little tedious getting all the left over residue from the decals off.....especially when there's a lot like there with the "GRIZZLY". Heat helps, and then rubbing alcohol and some microfiber towels you're willing to just chunk in the trash when done.
