Just saying hi and thanks for the forum!
I've been lurking around for a little while now and finally decided to take the plunge and register
I owned a yj a good 14-15 years or so back, which was a beat-up beast mostly used for sand dune strolling
Just last month we found ourselves in need of a new vehicle, happened to drive by a Jeep dealer, and immediately remembered how much fun it was to have one - so we pulled in, took a brief test drive, and then took it right on home.
Mostly destined to be a daily driver, but have a habit of hitting up rough two track roads, dune hills, and getting some work done on the back and otherwise slightly less reachable parts of our cabin property up north... of course the temptation to do some crawling is lingering.
Plan on doing upgrades little by little as time goes on; which has begun with side step bars and roll bar handles for the Mrs. as a prelude to lifting (she's short, so it was her prerequisite, lol); and a stubby bumper and winch which is in route now (nearly unintentionally got it stuck in mud already, was sitting there frustrated thinking how great a winch would have been).
Thanks for all the great information and guidance posted here; I'll mostly be here to absorb, but looking forward to contributing when and where I can.
