What's your goal - remote off roading? Get recovery gear first.
Performance off road ? Most go with lift kit and wheels/tires - but I confess I did it just cause it looks so good
There are some good off-roading 101 posts - check 'em out.
I don't think anyone is too happy with any kind of performance modifications other than gearing - so if you are looking for a bit of pep and you don't have the 4:10 gears, that should go high on the list.
Hmmm... I guess before anyone answers how to get there, you need to tell them where you want to go!
Thanks! yeah its a 2dr. I am not really sure how much off roading i can do here in CT. I'm with you that i would do lift/tires for the looks. Im not really into pep, its a jeep! I have seen the teraflex BB, i have my eye on that. anything better that i should look at?

thanks for the input!

Now, there are a bajillion posts about which lift is better out there. I seem to see a general consensus that for tame, streetable (but no slight to the capabilities, of course) lift would be the Old Man Emu (or OME) so that is what I went with. That, and lots of good write-ups and examples for a do-it-yourselfer. But again - look at what others have to say and why they like theirs. I like my OME 2.5, very stable on the highway around the twisties (I live in the mountains).

Good luck!
