Default Jeep vs Yukon

Got rear ended by this beast on I5 today... Seems like my spare took most of the hit. Some damage to the front due to being pushed into the car in front of me. Hard to say if there's any underlying damage however.. He hit me HARD. Hitch got hit hard as well. The bumper cover has deep witness marks from where the end of the frame sunk into the back side of it. At first glance, the damage seems minimal to the jeep. The rear gate it buckled, rear 'bumper cover' is hashed. I'm more concerned about frame integrity at this point...

Back to the ice pack...

Same exact thing happened to me. Traffic sitting still... Liberty hit me so hard he pushed me into the explorer in front of me. I needed a new tailgate, and I got a new oversized tire carrier and two new bumpers on his insurance... Otherwise, the JKU was fine.

I was in the middle, and took the full impact. I'm hurting pretty bad today... Everyone else came out unscathed. The gate is definitely scrap. All of the rivets / spot welds are popped on the inside, and it's buckled pretty bad. I'm worried about my frame as the hitch took a big hit too.. Thanks for the welcome. I'll be around, just as soon as I'm a bit more mobile...

Yup, I was in the middle, too. The guy who hit me and the explorer he pushed me into both had more damage than I did. The Jeep held up like a tank. No one was really hurt. Glad you'll be ok.

Steel bumpers make a big difference.

Rear bumper --
A lady reversed to park behind my previous Jeep when it had the stock plastic bumper. She barely touched my bumper corner, and pried it 1/3rd off...
On my current Jeep, another lady bumped my steel Bestop HighRock & Tire carrier. Her front got twisted up to her radiator. There wasn't even a scratch on the paint of my bumper.

Front bumper --
An ARB bumper was moved over from my previous jeep to the current JKUR.
I later sold it and got a SmittyBilt XRC, because of the even better approach angles at the corners.
