jeep troubles

Default jeep troubles
sitting at a gas pump yesterday trying to get my autoshift into drive. I could move through the gears too easily but the dash indicator stayed on park. Any idea what it could be?

Hi jeep is sitting at a dealership now, but Monday is a holiday...sigh. Gravenhurst is the gateway to Muskoka. Less then two hours north of Toronto
