Default Huge TJ fan now (soon to be) JK owner

Hi all,
Well not officially a JK owner yet (it has to be delivered from another dealer), but I signed all the papers today for a 2010 Rescue Green SWB Rubicon. I've been very fortunate that the only "cars" I've ever had have been Wrangler TJs so I gotta admit that I'm really nervous to switch (12 years of only TJs)! However the TJ that I hoped to have till I die has just been giving me too many problems (still love it to death) so I traded it in for a factory warranty (considering I only have 4 days off a month and would rather be on the trails than at shops). I did rent a JK Rubicon from Cliffhanger when I was in Moab and loved it, but I gotta admit, this was still a really hard switch! Anyway, till I get mine, here's basically what I ordered (my cliffhanger rental). Also I'm looking for fellow Jeepers in Memphis, TN as I just moved here, PM me!

John

Welcome to the JK world! A lot of us on here used to be TJ guys and made the switch, once you take it off road you'll be happy you did as well.

Thanks! That cliffhanger JK I rented (pictured above) made me realize how awesome the JKs were off road... There was probably 2-6 inches of snow on parts of Hell's Revenge and Fins and Things and it had really no problems! My hesitation has been more that the TJ I'm trading in has been with me since I was 17 (I really wish I had enough money to keep it), but I've accepted I can't!

Pictures: Looks like my JK won't be here till Wednesday but I'm still waiting on the final word... until then, I'll spend some quality time with my TJ!

Finally got my JK . I'm definitely liking it... got it on Friday with five miles on it, spent the last few days breaking it in, I'm up to 400 miles now... searched but couldn't find a solid answer, how many miles do I need on it before I can OFF ROAD it (saw 600 miles, is that right?) I hope to keep this around for the long haul. Thanks!!

In the manual I think it says that the first 700 miles are break-in miles and to keep it under 55mph, vary speed, etc... So, I would wait until its over 700

Thanks for the reply! The new manual said a long break in isn't required, 300 miles, however it doesn't say anything about breaking in the 4WD system. Another thread here on the engine breakin said 600 miles but that seems like a lot... well, I'm really wanting to wheel it

Good looking Jeep. Welcome to the Jk world. I'm digging the color too.
