Howdy from the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
My off-roading background is more along the lines of "Expedition Vehicles" rather than any hardcore mudding or rock crawling. I've logged several thousand miles with my family on the primitive roads of the Cascades and Sierra Nevadas in my 1997 80-series Landcruiser. Lately, I've had a bit of an itch for a JKU - they just look so fun! Plus all the gadgets and accessories available...
So I'm here to do some research, ask questions (only after using the search feature - of course!) and generally hang out.
Thanks!

owning both an FJ80 and a JKU, I can say with certainty that they are both fun in different ways...my Jeep gets a lot more attention though. It's also a manual which I prefer when I go off roading. But if it's raining or exceptionally dusty I prefer the enclosed cabin of the Cruiser since the Jeep is usually naked.

Thanks for the reply!
I should have specified that I don't plan to get rid of the FJ80 - my family and I love that thing. A JK will be an additional member of the fleet! I do a lot of work with a small company that makes accessories for Jeeps, and the more I'm around them, the more a Jeep seems like a project I want to tackle.

If you're into the expedition style jeeps, check this thread out (make sure you have plenty of time and a few beers )
