Hello from new member!!
Hey guys. Been reading this forum for many months now and it rocks. Full of information about the JK's and some great mod pictures. I Love the Jeep brand and have completed a frame up restoration on a 79 CJ7. I did this purely by posting and reading posts on a U.S. Jeep forum, also bought all the parts direct form the U.S. For some reason the wrangler has always been over shadowed here in the UK by the land rover defender so not that many parts or much help is around locally.
But now things have really started to change since we had the introduction of the JK unlimited 4dr. Partly because of the increase in size but mainly I think because we now have a diesel version, which until the JK was introduced, was never an option. Having a 4L petrol engine when our gas prices are $7.20 per gallon is a no go from the start.
I took a JK for a test drive the other day and was very impressed. It rode a lot better than I expected and the diesel engine has great torque with less cabin noise than I read about.
Well - just wanted to do the introduction and I appreciate this is the mod section, but I will be posting the first of my questions I have prior to my purchase of the JK.
Keep up the good posts!

I've got a diesel Sahara auto. The engine warms up very quickly and the noise levels drop accordingly. I haven't had the soft top on yet, I left it with the hard top on for the winter so I cannot say if the engine noise is noticeable with the soft top up. With the hard top, I hardly notice the engine sound at all unless climbing a hill.
