Hello from central Texas
I purchased a 2007 Wrangler two weeks ago and now I have less free time. I hit the road running, changing the oil Synthetic Mobile 1 and WIX51348XPXP Extreme Duty oil filter, new air filter. Yesterday and today I flushed the cooling system, changed the water pump and the hoses and put in G05 coolant. Between the two weeks, I drained the automatic transmission, put in a Wix filter (like that brand, it evened had a rubber pan gasket) and cussed out the crossover pipe that covers the pan bolts. The steel bolts on the water pump, had "rusted" to the aluminum block, so one of the bolts broke and I had to use a welding torch to get the broken bolt out. I used stainless steel bolts (from Lowes) with anti seize to replace the steel ones.
I am recently retired and the JK is my new hobby. When I was in the service (USAF), I was an Auto Mechanic and the skills stay with you over the years. I was wanting to do some traveling when I retired, but along came covid. Steve

Welcome to JKF! I would suggest to edit your profile and just put city and state and not disclose your full address on the web. I'm just on the west side of Fort Worth myself (outside the 820 loop).

Welcome from OKC! I'm also retired USAF, BTW. Avionics tech, but most of my career was spent as an aircrew member flying on the EC-130E/ABCCC. Would love to see a pic of your rig (mine is also a 2007). You're gonna love the places you'll go!
