Default Hello

Thank you for the add. Newly purchased 2014 jeep wrangler rubicon unlimited 56,000 miles looking to learn more about tuners. The previous owner has the AEV tuner on it for the gears (4.56) installed to accommodate the bigger tires and shift points. My question is I am barely getting 10 mpg. Is this normal or is there a better tuner to assist with this. Obviously I didn't buy this for the gas milage but seems awfully low.

Welcome to JKF. 4.56 gears are not helping the MPG.. The Tuner, do you know how it is set? A quick test disconnect or set back to factory (other than tire size) and see what the MPG does. BTW What size tires are on the Rubi.. yes that will decrease MPG.. SYK, we run 35x12.50s on a '13 JKU with 4.10 gears 6 spd man..and its about 14-15 around town better on the Hwy.. Jscan was used to set proper tire size to calibrate.

The Tuner is set for the tire sizes accommodating "35's" on original rims as well as the gear ratio change to allow the transmission to shift properly. i do have the tuner still but have been worried about messing something up since it is dip switches. i also do not have a manual for the tuner either. Mine is an automatic and in town gets about 8 and on the highway i barely get 10 mpg. Also i truly appreciate the feed back.

I suggest using this link to get to the contact AEV for a manual on the tuner: https://aevtech.supportsync.com/
I have used this before and they are responsive and helpful.

Heavy rotating parts (wheels) will suck power and gas mileage out of your system like nothing. Try slowing down as over 60mph these Jeeps are terrible with drag. Best way to get fuel mileage. I am lucky to have the Chev DI 5.3 which works a lot less than the V6 and gives me about 25-27mpg at 70mph with 285 x 34" tires on 4.10 Rubicon gears. Town I get about 20mpg. All imperial gallon so divide miles by 1.2.
