Default Have a KK now want a JK!

Long story short, RRO pimped out my KK (which is the wify's) but now I really want a JK for me. The only hang up is I don't know what to go for, the X or the Rubi. I found a nice white x for 23k msrp so I with all the incentives I am looking at 19k. I guess what I am asking is am I really going to regret not getting the rubi when I have a X? I want to do a small lift with tires, maybe a locker in the back and re-gearing for tires. Any thoughts?

Welcome to the forum! Which vehicle to buy? Depends if you like to tinker with them. The X is great if you want to pick and choose your mods and enjoy diy. The Rubi is the way we chose to go because it was ready out of the box to go off road. We don't have any spare time to work on vehicles so diy mods are out of the question. Good luck with your choice.

Welcome to the site. I have an X setup similar to what you are describing, 2" lift w/33" tires, factory rear locker and 4.10's. I don't regret not getting the Rubi, the X is very capable on the trails.

Welcome to the forum...

I got the Rubicon cuz it was a good starting point for what I wanted to do with it and to it. Try to look at it that way...

I'd say if you're considering going bigger than 32" or 33", then the 4.10's of the Rubi would serve you better. Plus, you'd already have the 2 lockers and a disco. With prices being what they are now, you can get a Rubi for the price of an X from a year ago... or thereabouts.

Thanks guys, I think I might end up with a white X. That will keep my payments low. Keep you guys posted!

Welcome to the forum! Rubi or X is a tough choice and you will get a million different opinions. For us the rubi made the most sense. Its very capable out of the box and its also a good starting point for mods. But the biggest reasons for me, were the front D44 and 4:1 transfer case. Yes, they could be added to an X, but I rather have them rolled in with the loan.
