Greetings from Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Hello everyone!
I have been lurking since we ordered our new 2007 Rubicon on February 15th which has since become a 2008. We have learned lots of good stuff reading this forum as we waited. Thank you all! September 19th our brand new 2008 Red Rock Crystal Rubicon, 4 door, dual tops, automatic, finally arrived. It was a loooong wait but well worth it. Three days later we enjoyed our previously scheduled vacation touring Colorado to see colored leaves, ghost towns and old mines and attend the XRRA races at Colorado Springs. It worried me a little to take an untested new vehicle on back roads but it performed like a the champ that it is. Talk about a break-in at almost 4,000 miles by the time we got home. It was a comfortable ride and a fantastic trip.
When we got home our Warn Power Plant and Warn front bumper had arrived and was installed. This weekend we tested the winch on my son's ZJ and it worked smoothly and easily. This was definitely a good purchase.
We live in a small tourist town at the base of the Teton Mountains, south of Grand Teton National Park. There are lots of Natl. Forest roads to explore here. The problem is we have new snow on the high peaks already and it is creeping lower towards the valley floor. I guess we will have to test how it performs in the snow. Fun!!!?
My husband (Teton Jim) and I have previously owned 2 Jeep Grand Cherokees and spend most Springs in Moab. We reached the point where our off roading needed a more capable vehicle. We hated being left behind when our son could go where we couldn't in his lifted ZJ. I am looking forward to continuing to enjoy this forum as a new member.
