Default Greetings... with an immediate question on a new Rubicon!

Hello from MD. Bought a new Rubicon in May and today crawled under it to see if I cleaned the bottom correctly since I ran it over some muddy and deep puddle trails. I was shocked to see rusted parts attached underneath (not a mechanic). Perhaps these parts are stockpiled iron. Still, I am attaching a pic to see what you all think. Is this normal.

Welcome to JK-Forum! Nothing to worry about. Jk driveshafts rust quickly, and many times will show up at the dealership with some rust on them. It won't affect anything.

I agree with Ryan... the driveshaft usually isn't even painted. This is surface rust.

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the welcome and the reply. This scared me because it appears that the entire driveshaft is rusted and I just bought it (a 2016). Also there are some other areas with rust - not the frame though, just what looks like the same type of metal and what looks like the head of a screw or bolt.

This is very common, and not only on the wrangler, but other vehicles as well. Nothing to worry about. My 13 looked that way the day I picked it up. 83,000 miles later still no worries.

Happy Jeeping!
