Default Greetings from the desert!

Hello everyone....

First I'd like to say you guys are amazing... totally made up my mind about getting the JK... Big thanks.

I live in Saudi Arabia and my last ride was a 2005 M3 with SMG (squential transmission). I was fed up with all the pot holes and speed limits etc... but the wrost thing was the police... my car wasn't THAT modded but was too loud for them to let me be (was the air intake and full SS exhaust system- but still with CATs) Anyway... I got the the point in my life where I really wanted to try out something new... I decided for a 4x4 and didn't want to spend all my money on a new car.... the JK's price was perfect so I decided to search up on it... not long till I found this site (oh and I watched the movie Twilight- i loved the car right then)

Since they don't sell the Rubi in Saudi I went for the 2 door silver X (Sahara is way more expensive and no Manual available- body colored fenders don't belong to a hardcore car IMO either)

I got the car last night and already drove it over 200km... its soo addictive! I'm really happy about getting Manual as well... I would have regreted the auto for sure... the car needs all the help it can get power wise

Anyway... I got a couple of questions for you... I'm a real noob when it comes to 4x4. I really hate the stock 16 tires... they are just sooooo small... I honestly dont want to mod the car for looks though.. I want to save my money for a house... but I do want to make the car better over all.

Most of our country is just pure desert.. but I live in a city by the sea and we do have "some" rocky areas.... nothing much... so mostly sand... sand... and more sand

I want to upgrade the tires... the wheels are not That bad so I will stick with them... Lift is out of the question... I will be driving the car at 140 kpm like 30% of the time so the tire choice matter on the street as much as in the sand...

1. What brand and size should I go for? (I don't want to use spacers) my mind is telling my wider = better for sand... Im I right there?

2. My car doesn't say X... it says "Sport" whats up with that?

3. What other mods you think are "must have" if I were to take it off road?

Thanks for your help and cheers on the great site (btw... I'm really worried I will get sucked in into modding my car... things around here cost arms and legs... we usually have to import stuff since we don't have many aftermarket shops) - not tires though... got plenty of those ofc.

Thanks and sorry for the wall of text

Welcome to JK-Forum. Glad you found this site and I'm sure you will get answers to all of your questions. I might add, that some people will "yank your chain," so to speak, about calling your jeep a car, so get ready.
