Getting back into it!! 2013 or 2014?
As the title says I am ditching the sedan (yay) and getting a JKU. Quick background: I had an 09 JKU Sahara and loved it. We were expecting our second child so I figured I should get something more economical. Well that's for the birds!
I've got my eye on 2 JKU Saharas, one of which I will be buying this weekend. One is a 2013 with 8,000 miles and the other a 2014 with 10,000 miles. Other than the year and mileage they are nearly identical. One thing the 13 has is the max tow with 3.73's. The 14 has the 3.21. The price is nearly identical as well with the 14 being about $800 more.
Like I mentioned, I'll be getting one of them this Saturday so your quick responses are very much appreciated.
Can't waith to get back behind the wheel!!

2013 would be my choice. Less miles, tow package and gears. Gears might be the biggest reason. I've never had 3.21 gears, but I can imagine they are likely good for stock tires and better mpg but not as good for bigger tires. Will you lift it and put bigger tires on it?

If it was me I would still go with the 2013 if all other things are equal. I occasionally need to pull a small trailer or even a small boat. I read about people who have the 3.21 gears and there are many who don't like them because they don't turn bigger tires as well. Having the 3.73 gears may also help resale if you ever decide to sell it. Do you think you will ever lift it and get bigger tires? Is the Jeep a manual or automatic?
