First Time Jeeper
Hello all, first time Jeep owner here (kinda) Bought the Jeep, Sept. 2015, and have been creeping around all the Jeep forums until finally deciding to join JKF. My Jeep is a 2015 Willy's JKU. I have always loved jeeps, but it was never practical for me. The jeep plays second fiddle to my 14' Ram 2500 Cummins, and the jeep mostly just sits around and gets played with when the weather is nice, or when its nice and muddy. Its also been a work in progress over the past year. It has just over 5k miles on it, and it now has a 3.5" Rockkrawler lift, 1.75" wheel spacers, as well as winch bumper, and 9500k Smittybuilt XRC, Side steps, JW Speaker Headlights and taillights. I just ordered a set of 35x12.5R17 Toyo AT/II for it, and those should be on sometime in the next week or so. After that it needs an alignment, and then it'll probably become my DD, as the Cummins is just over 2 years old (Bought it May of 14) and I'm sitting at 55k miles on the clock. Like I said Ive been creeping all over for the past year, did everything my self (Lift, Bumper, Winch, etc...) So I know just how much there is to learn for everyone here. Im happy to have finally found a place to call home, other than CumminsForum. My JK is a Willy's, so its a no frills, but some frills at the same time. No power windows/locks, but I have the pioneer radio, and speaker... Probably be adding locks to it sometime. Ive seen some videos, and actually ordered a kit from Amazon, but when I was doing my testing before trying to instal it, it wasn't working how I wanted it to. So, i sent that back, and will try again later. Im fine with no locks, because I dont keep anything in there anyways. Half the time it doesn't have a top on, and about half of that time theres no doors.
Im from Lubbock, TX, so theres not much to do around here that I know of. Im hoping to find some groups here where we can meet up and put these jeeps to work, because lets be honest they look better in the dirt than on the pavement. I dont know much about jeeps, but I can fake like I do... If y'all have any questions let me know. Excited to see what I can learn from y'all.
