Finally an Owner!
Hey all!
My name is Brayden and am from Alberta, I've been a long time lurker on this forum, making a profile a few years back just to check out pictures and drool over all the cool jeeps. Finally got enough funds to buy myself a jeep this past Tuesday. Bought myself a 2007 JKU Sahara with the Rocky Mountain package. Absolutely love it. So much fun. Finally got the doors and top off yesterday and that is the coolest thing ever. All vehicles should be like that haha! Took it out into some dirt yesterday. Poor Jeep, never had its doors off before!
A quick question though - My previous vehicle was a 98 firebird and that was a manual as well as this Jeep. I have found that the tranny is muuuuch looser and clunkier than in my car. I'm assuming that it's becasue a) I don't know how to drive this properly yet, and b) it's a more heavy duty Jeep/truck/SUV type transmission than a sports car one. However, I still don't know if it's normal or not, as I've never driven anything but standard cars.
And, onto the pics because we all know these "say hi" threads are useless without them! Sorry about the crappy quality, my phone isn't the greatest.

Congrats! That's a pretty rig right there! I love having the doors off too, lol. I don't think I've had them on for a few months now.. Although I gotta put them on for the trail I'm going on in a couple weeks(Dusy Ershim!!!)
Whatcha got planned for the Jeep? I've got a 2012, and if your talkin about what I think you are... It's just a Jeep thing I think. I used to have a couple manuals before my jeep(also my first), and they felt "tighter" than this by alot. Then again, the sticks were alot shorter, so I don't know if that could explain it, lol. Probably come to think of it.

Welcome and nice jeep!
I had a 6speed gti before the jeep and it was also a lot tighter feeling when shifting, but a couple of trucks I drive at work are manual and they're even worse then the jeep, so I don't worry about it!

Congrats on the new to you jeep bro!! As far as the tranny I wouldnt worry about it your coming from a pretty short throw shift on a sports car to a jeep. Ive driven standards my whole life from 4sp granny low 3/4 ton chevy to 99 T/A and truck/suv trannys are always going to seem clunky and loose compared to a cars.
