Interested!

All who are interested post up here so I can give the club prez a head count. We are rallying at the Walmart located at the intersection of 1604 and Nacogdoches Road (FM 2252) (Address below).

16503 Nacogdoches Road

San Antonio, TX 78247

There will be a short driver meeting with directions handed out (usually). Planned departure is at 10:00 am. If the crowd is as large as last years 40+ rigs, then the group will be broken into smaller groups of 4-6 rigs with each group leader having a CB radio to keep in contact with other group leads. It's quite a sight to see as all 40+ rigs depart. Here is a gratuitous group shot from last years event. Good stuff!

That looks like a lot of fun. I might be busy later that day, but I'll know more by next week.

Those of you who take your doors off... do you all have mirror relocators, or do you just go without??

Texas drivers require me to use all 3

I'd probably leave the front doors on and take the rest off.

I'll have relocators on my Jeep. Also, I'll be coaching a volleyball match from 0930 until 1030 so I'll be catching up to the group after. Anybody who joins say Hook-em sent you. Renee is our pres and she'll take good care of you.

I'm leaning more towards joining this event. Add me to the head count, please!

As far as driving mirrorless, obviously I've never done it before. I assume I just need to do more over the shoulder checks like on a motorcycle? Or am I better off keeping front doors on until I can spring for relocaters?

For an uber-cheap solution, go to an autoparts store and buy stick-on blind-spot mirrors and then attach them to your outside air vents like this.

It'll give you visibility aft without setting you back financially or leaving you feeling exposed. Just an idea...
