Has anyone considered a retainer strap for the hood? One that would prevent the people servicing you JK from damaging your hood when they think they can just flip it up against the windshield. I got my oil changed at the dealer and they scratched my hood and windshield frame. I'm thinking some kind of retainer would stop future damage to other people's JK and would cost very little. I'm sure I'm not the only one this has or will happen to.

I guess the rubber bumpers on the hood only work when the windshield is folded down not when the hood is folded up?

Yep, you got it. Different hinge point for the hood and windshield.

When I got my oil changed for the first time I went out in the shop (pissed the mgr. off, nobody's allowed in the service area) and made sure the mechanic used the prop rod.

Probably best if we could find a way to put gas cartridges on each side...that would support the hood AND eliminate the temptation to toss it back.

Is there a way to self tap a small screw on the inner engine bay wall and the inside of the hood with a strap that will only allow the hood to go so far. Which would in return prevent the hood from ever being prop-ed against the windshield. I would check myself but I don't have my Rubi yet. Hopefully by the middle of the month though I will.

A strap would be a good limiter, but might also get in the way when under the hood.
I vote for a warning sign, "DO NOT FLIP MY ****ING HOOD BACK"
