Default Xrc8 or m8000 winch

Looking to buy a winch most likely one of these two. Any one lean me in any direction ? Xrc8 is quite a but cheaper but warn is known for quality. 4wheelparts currently has a special on the m8000 that they give you a wireless remote for free but Smittybilt is offering a $50 rebate. Also leaning towards synthetic line.

Thx

Well... 4WD offers a life time guarantee on the Smittybilt winch for $40. Can't beat that.

Get the XRC8 Comp with the synthetic line. Still cheaper than the Warn. My Smitty is great!

I like my XRC8, worth the $300 and I got a lifetime warranty for $50 threw 4WD. The warn is nice, but for what I do I just couldnt justify the $600 for it.

My .02 Cents...I have owned Warn 8000 lb on a 93 YJ a 6000 lb on a 90 Cherokee and two 3000 lb (on my quads)

I will not buy another one. They seem prone to allow water, muskeg and other assorted junk inside, despite my best efforts to seal 'em up. The 8000 seemed to give the least amount of trouble, but then it was subjected to far less than the others.
No winch will be perfect, but IMHO the Warn winches are too much money for TOO LITTLE product. My next winch will be a Smitty or Champion or whatever else.

I'm going to argue the other side to this coin because I am quite passionate about customer service, and hence, WARN. I have been rebuilding an old M8000 that I picked up 2nd hand and have had to call Warn on several occasions to get clarification on some parts of the rebuild. Every time I dealt with Warn they were kind, courteous, and always went out of their way to help. In fact, I was so impressed that I wrote them a letter thanking them. Alright, I know, enough of the accolades, get to the nuts and bolts.

The winch itself is top-notched. Several friends of mine have the M8000, which is why I bought one myself. If I had the $ I would have bought a new one. They are amazing winches and Warn is a top-notched proven manufacturer.

Do not forget the age-old adage that you get what you pay for.

Hope it helps!

Smittybilt is pretty good about sending replacement parts, especially if its within warranty. How long have you had it??

My xrc8 died as well. The powder coating came off most of it and smittybilt sent me replacement pieces. Well, they forgot to send the pressed in bearings on one of the risers and a few other minor things so I had to retire it.
I don't think I will buy that brand winch again, but that's just my opinion
