Default XD Series rims or Moto Metal

I have seen a few people on here running XD rims and i must say that i really like the look. I am going to be lifting my 08 Sahara Unlimited in a few months and i think i might want to go with either XD's or Moto's. its taken me a few days of looking to actually find what i was looking for but i think i might have it narrowed down. here are my choices.

The Rockstars are my favorite BUT I can only find them in 20x10 with the 4.5" backspacing and i would prefer 20x9" with 4.5" backspacing. I only say this because i am planning on running 285/65/20's. If i get the Rockstars i might have to go with Pit Bull Rockers in a 37x13.5x20 which means i will have to also add a body lift to my order or go with a 6" lift instead of the 4" that i was going to go with. The rockstars are my first choice but if i dont go with them then its gonna be a tough choice between the others. I guess i need to decide which lift im gonna get and that should help me decide which rims and tires to go with. here are my choices for the 4" lift.

TeraFlex 4" Suspension System with Shocks

Full Traction 4" Ultimate Suspension Systems

If i have to go with a 6" then i am going to go with the full traction kit only because im looking for a full bolt on kit. here is the link for the 6" kit that i am looking at.

Full Traction 6.0in LONG ARM JK

I know i have to get new drive shafts when i lift and i am still having a hard time figuring out which ones to go with so if anyone knows what is best please let me know and if you have links for them that would be great also.

Let me know what you think and if you have pictures of any of above parts installed on you JK lets see them pictures.

Welcome.

First thing, use the search. Plenty of threads on the driveshafts, regearing, TF 4", FT 4", and 35" and 37" tires.

Secondly, quick and dirty, you could run 37's on the 4" lift no problem, because they yield more like 5+" and settle about 1/2".

I vote for your favorite (XD rockstars). Get something that you're going to want to keep a long time.

With your lift I would give David @ www.northridge4x4.com a call, he has a lot of experience with setting up the type of Jeep you want.

I read title of your thread and the first few lines which include your choices of wheels and everything seemed pretty straight forward.

Then suddenly you jump to a choice between relatively narrow 35" tire vs a wide aggressive off road 37" tire and 6" lift kits.

I think you need to start by deciding how much lift you really want, since lift above 2.5-3.0" comes at a price. Then select your favorite tire and pick an available size that can fit with the lift kit. Finally, pick some wheels that are offered on *narrow* end of recommended rim width for that tire.

Those Dubs are expensive and if you want to maintain their good looks as much as possible you need the tires to provide as much protection as possible.

IMO, the Moto Metals are lame, and the Rockstars are played out.

The Rockstars were cool a couple years back when nobody had them, now every other truck or Jeep in my neck of the woods has them.

I almost bought the Addicts for my Jeep, but they were a new style, and were hard to find in the backspacing I wanted.
