Rebound
Man I think it's your Dual Battery system that saved my ass - If that had been the battery wired to the stock electrical system I may have lost alot of puters.....
Any how I rebounded - my girls not back home from the wedding yet and I got the old brake lines back on now and the system flush. A Club makes a great partner to flush a brake system in a pinch.
Heres the new bumper..
I can afford another winch right now....if I could I would have got one of your new BenchMark bumpers and not this Shi+ybuilt one but I have my own wedding coming up in Feburary.......maybe.....if she forgives me for not going tonight.....Karma...I'm an assho!e.

Yep. That's the problem. You definitely need a dedicated ground cable straight from the Aux battery to the winch motor.

Yup that is for sure your issues ALWAYS run both positive & negative cables from a winch straight to the battery as they draw a ton of power as you've seen

...and the fuse must be close to the battery, rated no higher than what the positive wire can safely handle, based on it's gage and length.

Yup, like stated above current will always take the path of least resistance. It looks like this time the path of least resistance was from your negative terminal to the engine block (starter), down the drive train to the axle and up the break lines to the frame.
Glad no serious damage was done.
Grounding to the negative terminal is always best. Even light bars should be grounded to the negative terminal. Or anything else that will be handling a decent amount of current. That will help avoid doing damage to the computer.
