Default wobble wobble wobble

Few days ago my Jeep started to go into the dreaded "death wobble" everytime I went down this one bumpy road on my way to work. I thought maybe the bolts in my JKS trackbar were loose... checked them... still tight. I check all my control arms, and my upper on the driver side bolt at the axle is a little loose. It is enough actually that I can wiggle the arm around a tiny bit. So I tighten it up. Then the next day I hit the same bumpy road and no more D-wobble.

Just thought I would mention to those of you that have wobble issues to check your control arm bolts really well. Amazing what one little loose bolt does to a suspension.

loose bolts and worn out joints can cause DW.

I am usually really good about checking all my Jam-nuts and control arm bolts when I grease them (at every oil change). But I have been lazy and not checked them in like 6k miles. Nothing is usually ever loose except for the random Jam Nut. I guess it was a good reminder for me to put a wrench on the arms at every oil change.

I fully agree. The DW is NOT unavoidable. It is not our destiny!

Proper installation of components, retorquing, regular inspection and maintance can help avoid it all together.

Many aftermarket components require maintenance at shorter intervals than the factory parts.

Very interesting

Honestly, I have never checked my front upper arms. I will start to do it tomorrow...
