Default Wobble under braking

Ok guys im unsure if this is really death wobble. Every morning on the way to work when i brake for a light or car etc.... i get a light shimmy to a hard wobble in my steering wheel and by the time i get to work it seems to subside. Again this is only during braking not while hitting bumps etc.. Anyone have any ideas or fixes?

Your brake rotors may be warped.

you would feel warped rotors in the brake pedal.

Alignment is felt in the steering wheel or your steering stabilizer is toast, also look for cupping or uneven wear in your front tires

And please for god's sake...check your lug nuts for correct torque

Doesnt sound like the death wobble. You WILL know when it's DW !

I bet your rotors are warped. You may not feel anything in the brake pedals...but the steering wheel wobble when braking fits the warped rotors perfectly.

Take them off and have them turned at the local autoparts store. Should run about $10-20 bucks per rotor. They can tell you then if its the rotors...

Happend to my old Liberty all the time....

So i checked the torque and everything is 10-4 i also inspected my steering damper it its leaking grease. Also Ive only got 8000 miles on the jeep I wouldnt think any of the parts would be worn so quickly

it's probably the rotors man....they are warped....you might have had hot rotors and went through a car wash or a puddle and caused the rotors to warp....with only 8000miles on it...I would think it would still be under warranty.

So can anyone shed some light on if its my rotors why would this only happen every so often? while turning while braking this doesnt happen, when its warmer weather there seems to be no issue..... Ive had warped rotors in other vehicles before and have never had the steering shake back and forth many many inches.
