Yup, same here... Long crack spanning the length of my windshield, about 5" from the bottom. I too decided to just let it ride since its not in my line of sight. Durn windshield is a rock magnet!

It seems that any little rock that catches the outside of the windshield is what causes the cracks to start. I have many divots in the center part of the windshield that have not developed into cracks so I wonder if some kind of clear 3M tape of something around the edge of the windshield would prevent so much cracking. you can see that both my cracks started from small rocks that hit just on the edge of the windshield.

same here.

took a rock to the windshield in my LOS but Safelite filled it good. week later, took a rock to the drivers side edge, and within a day, it was cracked 16 inches across. I'm in NJ and my insurance will pay Safelite to fill those chips all day long, but won't cover a windshield with my $1k deductible
