Winches winches winches??????
IM lookin to buy a winch i dont wanna spend 1500 ....any recommendations for a good one i dnt mind spending money for quality u get wat u pay for but r the name brand expensive ones really worth it .... Please help

Smitty bilt just came out with a fully waterproof winch with wirless remote- 10,000 lbs with synthetic line. $549. I just recieved mine yesterday and it looks badass!

What's your plan? Light or infrequent off-roading? Hardcore everyday use? Do you off-road alone? Cute ornament on bumper(we all hate to admit this! LOL)? Figure this first, then see how you would benefit on the reliability, capacity and the warranty of the potential winch you may buy.
I have an Engo 12000 mounted on a hitch cradle that I leave in the garage and mount in the front or rear only when I might need it like going off-roading for the weekend or when it snows and roads are covered with ice. During the rest of the year, I leave the 100 lbs winch at home protected from the elements and prying eyes.
I'm not trying to sell you on what I have but thinking about what you need first will avoid regrets later.

I have the ENGO 10K with synthetic rope. Have had no problems with it after about a year and a bit. It is a little on the noisy side but what ever it was $430 shipped with a cover so really can't complain.

It's cool to have a winch on the bumper all the time but I only need it when I go offroading, and it weighs my front bumper down and is exposed to the salt air so I have rust on the cable bc I have it on all the time.

I got the Warn XD9000i. It's definitely worth every penny of the $1000+ price tag. Works fully submerged (I know from experience being stuck fender deep). The line speed under load is amazing! I've sat back and let guys use their new Qtech, smitty, and rugged ridge, and when theirs couldn't do the job, the Warn did it. Customer service is EXCELENT! When I had a problem (cuz I didn't do proper maintenance) they talked me right thru the rebuild process quickly and efficiently! I have nothing bad to say about the other winches, their great winches, they do the job they need to do just fine. But if u got the money.... Buy a Warn, u won't be disappointed
