This was one of the first projects I did with my Jeep and I was able to pull it off without too much trouble. Took about 4 hours and 2 trips to the hardware store for parts.

You could also consider skipping all that work and just picking up a cheap stubby. (went with the RR XHD modular, myself...)

did mine witht he harbor freight winch plate. 8 uses later and its still as sturdy as ever. this was supposed to be temporary but i think i will keep it for a bit longer, i think it looks good.
