Winch on stock bumper?`
Can you install a winch on the stock Sahara bumper? I am looking at the Mile Marker PE 8000. Also, how much additional lift should I add to the suspension when adding a winch? I am about to buy the Skyjacker 2" BB with Bilstein shocks. I currently run the stock 32's but will be upgrading to 33's eventually

Yes you can and I can tell you that Rough Country has a winch plate that will allow you to do just that for about $200...

Cool. Any idea about much will this decrease my lift in the front? I'm about to add 2-2.5" BB and am wondering what the net will be if I added a winch.

I mounted mine on my Sahara with the stock bumper. This is a Champion #8000 winch , mounting plate and roller fairlead that I biught from Cosco for $299.00. They are on sale right now for $199.00. You have to cut into the top of the plastic bumper to bolt it to the frame rails. I think it works great.
Good Luck

After I added the winch, Rough country mount, rock hard oil/trans skid. and mopar front skid to my bumper I lost a little over an inch in the front. The whole setup added about 150 lbs to the front end. I just ordered HD coils to bring the front end back up because I only have about an inch to my bumpstops now. It seems like every mod I do requires another one.... I know.. its a jeep thing

This is what I want to do eventually. Luckily there are some options for winch plates ranging from 35-200 bucks.

THanks...Did you order the HD coils from Teraflex that usually come with their HD kit? If so, where did you find them. Also, are there any other considerations for adding these coils if you have a Teraflex BB kit already installed? Since I won't get the winch until much later this is the exact path I think I am going to follow
