Man, if Warns aren't waterproof I'd hate to seem what they could take if they were! I've never had one on my jeeps or trucks, but I've had 2 Warns on an atv and on a rhino. I continually dunked both of them and they never gave any trouble.

X4 on Recon. Seems like a solid unit and I like the wireless remote in addition to the wired one.

Own the recon and love it. Tough and with synthetic rope very strong and lightweight.

Have a buddy with a 10,500 recon and its used and abused. very good winch

I have the Recon as well and its a nice winch for the money. I use a front and rear reciever hitch and have mine mounted to a plate with handles so I can use it in the front or the back. the other advantage to having it on the plate is that I can use it off the vehicle as long as I have a power source.
