One word. Warn. You won't regret it.

I went on the American Outback Adventure with ARB a few summers ago through BC, Canada. Involved on the trip were several retailers and custom shop owners such as Manafre, Slee Offroad, Inland Rovers, and several others.

99% of us had warn winches. Most of these guys had access to whatever type of winch they wanted and they all chose Warn except for one person.

For what it's worth...I'd rather save up for a few more months and go with a Warn.

I've owned 3 Warn winches now. Bought two brand new and bought one used. I've always gone with at least a 9,000lbs Warn as I don't just go off-road with 2-door jeeps. Keep in mind, an armoured and lifted Ranger Rover will tip the scales at about 7,000lbs.

I say, buy the most winch you can afford, but don't skimp. Safety is a big thing.

I dont see any mention of a Warn Winch. They have not been in business as long as they have been buy selling junk. Always remember this- YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!! I have a Warn 9.5ti and have had no problems to date Sometimes the extra duckets are worth it.

That's a smart decision.

If you keep your eyes open on local "craigslist" type boards and with local Jeep/offroad clubs, you can sometimes find a good used Warn for a very reasonable price.
