I may be a bit biased because Superwinch is in my back yard but I've always used Superwinch winches. They're a quality product and the guys at Superwinch have always taken care of me. I just put a brand new 12,500 lb Superwinch Talon with synthetic line on my Jeep. I haven't got stuck yet so only did a test pull and this things a beast. Superwinch does sell a product called Roam which connects to your winch and allows you to operate it with your phone. Also provides feedback from winch. Good luck with your choice.

I bought a Smittybilt X2O Comp 12,000 in mid 2014. It's been through a handful of good hard pulls, one being a TJ on its side and wedged into a ravine. I had to strap the back of my jeep to a tree to pull him out on his side until we could get him rubber side down. No issues other than the controller wireless system on the early run version would periodically pick up a signal from ???? and start running! So SB sent me a new wire harness, controller, and relay pack that now has a master cut off rocker switch on it. So I have a complete spare original set that works but does random crap from alarm systems or something, and the new updated set that is on the Jeep.
