Look at the ENGO line. Used and abused my 10k and no problems. Definitely in your price range.

Don't forget about Quadratec. They have a house brand that looks like a great value.

I had that same winch on my previous vehicle and it never worked for me. But like anything its seems hit or miss. I wouldnt buy one again just because of my previous expereince. I have this one know and its been fantastic I have used it multiple times.

I'm getting a recon 10,500 from brown santa today. I've read over 100 pages of reviews on them dating 3 years back and only seen 2 failures and they were abused.

exactly what I installed on my jeep a couple months ago. Works great, less wiring (remote switch), good aesthetics.

Yep doesn't look bad at all with a three warranty ip67 waterproof, syn line, wireless and wired remote, and I paid the little extra for the kit with tree strap snatch block winch cover and d rings

I put an Engo 10K with synthetic line on mine. Delivered at less than $420.00. I would recommend that you spend the additional money for synthetic line over twisted cable.

All the low-end models of every brand (including "W") are made by the same Chinese syndicate.

That said, I went with Quadratec Q9500i and 5 months later when the motor gave out I was glad I did. I just called them with my order number and they shipped me a new motor and a no cost return sticker the same day. Several pulls later and the new motor is still doing fine.

If I had it to do over today, I would not get a Q9500i... I would get a Q9500is with the synthetic cable:

When the fertilizer hits the ventilator it's nice to have a deflector.
