Default Will spray on bed liner stick to alumimum diamond plate?

Or will it wipe off like any regular spraypaint?

You will need to sand it first with a fine grit then hit it with self etching primer. Then the bed liner will stick.

What he said. A good self etching primer is very important or your bedliner will just fall off.

Cover for the trunk

.125" diamond plate arrives by fedex tomorrow, was only $170 shipped for a 4x4 sheet to make the main piece out of, and a 2x2 to make extra parts to bolt it together. I have my wooden template all set to go, really praying this comes out nice its the first thing i am actually building myself for the jeep. As long as i get the 48"x31" Mid piece (its 3 pieces) done nicely, i will feel a whollle lot better.

I am just really worried my template will somehow end up being off... guess il have to do the measure twice cut once thing a few times more to be safe.

Where can i get self etching primer?

i do not really feel like spending $100 to get it powder coated if i can do it myself for $20

Cut main pieces of the diamondplate this morning, came out dead straight.

Jigsaw is up next... Cringing about messing up this part.

Gonna take some pictures before jigsawing etc etc. Heres the template.

I made it out of foamcore first, which was a $15 waste and then transferred it to plywood. Should have just done plywood.

Here is where i stand right now. I am very happy with the progress so far, my cuts came out really nice and pretty much perfect as far as the spacing i wanted from the posts. (I left 1/4" all around, to leave some play, and i am putting rubber molding on the edge)

I obviously still have to finish cutting the side pieces as well as the curves on the main piece.

I am taking pics of every step for the most part and am going to do a write up when its all said and done.

My only issue at the moment is where on earth i can get the edge bent... I asked one metal shop and they wanted $75 for probably 5 minutes of their time to put 2 bends in the edge for me.

By the way to make one of these so far only costs from $150-$250 tops. Depends on how you are going to attach the pieces together and how you will finish off the pieces.
