Default will i have to upgrade from a d30/35

I have a 2008 2 door x, its auto with 3:73 gears. from my understanding on the year and trim of the jk i have, i have a d30 in the front and d35 in the rear. for now im probably going to keep stock gears and go with a rk 2.5 with 33's. but later on im going to go big, with 5:13's or 5:38's, with 37 in tires. I am wondering if my stock axles can handle that high of gearing?

Can we get a picture of your back diff. That way we can tell you what axle you are running also, you can NOT run 5.38's in a D30. Only in a D44 and up.

honestly, i'm not even 100% sure you can get gears for your dana 35. if you can, i wouldn't run them or 37's on it. i would save up and start looking for a used dana 44 rear at the very least.

nah, if it's got an oval diff cover in the rear, it's a 35. our vengeance 2-door has one.

I wasn't aware the JK came with any other rear axle other than a Dana 44. Is it possible you're mistaken?

no mistake. there were a handful of early 2007 made with dana 35's and we have one of them.

yup, that's a 44. unless you have a rubicon, you will have a d30 up front.

You have a front D30 and a rear d44. You can go up to a 5.13 gear with this set up, however its not the strongest at 5.13's.
